Destiny 2 beta key redemption

If you’ve bought it from a first-party digital shop (Playstation Store or Xbox Store), you’ll get access to the beta automatically when it starts. You won’t have a beta key, and you won’t have to waste time with the redemption process, since your purchase is tied to your account. Players are not required to have an active PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Subscription to engage with the Destiny 2 Beta.

If you’ve preordered from anywhere else (Amazon, Gamestop, etc), you’ll get a 9-digit Early Access code you need to redeem on Bungie.net. You might get it via email, if you’ve purchased online, or on your receipt. If it’s an online purchase, the code might take up to 3 business days to arrive, so don’t worry if it’s not there immediately. If you have pre-ordered from a participating retailer but have not yet received your Early Access code, please contact your retailer for further assistance.

How to register for Destiny 2 PC beta

PC players might find this whole experience more confusing than others. When registering on Bungie’s site, you’ll need to tie the account to a PSN or Xbox Live account, even if you’ve preordered the PC version of Destiny 2. This won’t tie your beta code to the platform you choose. It’s a necessary step for some reason, so you’ll have to register on one of the services, but you’ll get to choose your beta platform at a later date.

Those that weren't able to get early access to the Destiny 2 beta will be able to download and play it without a code from today. As previously detailed by Bungie, the Destiny 2 beta becomes open to everyone from 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST on July 21.

The Destiny 2 beta offers a taste of the campaign and multiplayer. You can try the opening mission, Homecoming, and see some of the cinematics from the campaign. As well as that, there's the attack/defend Countdown mode on the Endless Vale map.

For those that want to try a strike there's the Inverted Spire, which is set in a Vex stronghold and can be played with two friends. Matchmaking is available to fill these slots for those that aren't using a pre-arranged Fireteam.
